recovering and surviving...

Wendy is at home, resting after a long and painful day.

The nurse had a difficult time getting Wendy's IV started. As a result Wendy has a bruised and sore arm. Because Wendy only has one lung they didn't sedate her as much as she or they would have liked to. She felt a great deal of pressure during the surgery. It has been a painful recovery since this morning. Due to an overall exhausting and physically demanding day her large incision site has been causing her a great deal of discomfort.

She is on a new antibiotic that also has an anti-inflammatory property. She is hopeful it will help reduce any potential swelling.

Pray...
  • Wendy sleeps well tonight.
  • Her road to recovery is free from any additional bumps.
  • Wendy's family can rest peacefully tonight, knowing today's surgery is over.
"To be grateful for the good things that happen in our lives is easy, but to be grateful for all of our lives - the good as well as the bad, the moments of joy as well as the moments of sorrow, the successes as well as the failures, the rewards as well as the rejections - that requires hard spiritual work. Still, we are only grateful people when we can say thank you for all that has brought us to the present moment. As long as we keep dividing our lives between events and people we would like to remember and those we would rather forget, we cannot claim the fullness of our beings as a gift of God to be grateful for. Let's not be afraid to look at everything that has brought us to where we are now and trust that we will soon see it in the guiding hand of a loving God." - Brennan Manning

  3. Hello Dear Wendy and Mom!!! This is Debbie Hazelet, I spent one day with you two! I just wanted you to know Wendy that you are in my prayers, our prayers! I have times through out the day that my heart is thinking of you and praying for complete healing!! No matter what is happening at that very moment in time, TRUST GOD!! He is healing you!!! I know as a momma, you must be so glad to see your little guys, and get their hugs! The best medicene ever! I go back on Dec. 14th for another surgery at Davis. Dr. Calhoun is going to remove a tumor from my left lung this time. And then after I recover from that surgery, they are going to do a Stereotactic Radio Surgery on the last and deeper tumor on my left lung. Praying then that I will be cancer free!!!! FOREVER!!! And I know you totally understand how I feel! My thoughts and my prayers are with you Wendy!!! You are so strong and a beautiful person!!! You have endured too much....but trust our GOD to heal you!!! The Bible says he never leaves us....and trust me, I am holding on to that!!! You do, too!!! God bless you Wendy!!! Thank you for being you! You and your Mom just really encouraged me! And I thank you for that! Hugs dear friend!!! Love, Debbie Hazelet
