day 28 from cb

Today's update was written by Wendy's dad, CB.

DAY 28

"Because He lives We can face tomorrow. Because He lives all fear is gone. Because I know He holds the future. And life is worth living just because He lives.

Friends and Family,

Georgia and I are still with Wendy at the hospital. I will return to Madera tonight to care for the grand boys for the week. Georgia will remain to love and care for Wendy until she is home. Our HOPE and PRAYER is to be reunited by THANKSGIVING.

Simply put, Wendy must be able to do the following on her own before she is released:
* proper bowel functions
* consume solid foods to sustain her without the IV nutrition
* walk on her own with walker
* no IV’s for medicine or pain

She will go home with a Wound V.A.C. and a home health nurse for assistance. The most beautiful nurse in the world, her mother will care for her. Weeks and weeks of physical therapy will follow.

Our family loves you so much. Thank you for support and prayers. In His time, in His time He makes all things beautiful."

  1. Wendy,
We are hopeful that you will be home soon! I was wondering if you have access to Skype (video conferencing). I use it often to talk to my brother and thought maybe you could use it to talk to your boys. I know it isn't quite the same, but perhaps a little face-to-face conversation would boost your spirits. If you need help figuring out how to access it, please let me know. As always, you are in our family's thoughts and prayers. We love you!

  6. Wendy and Family,
We are going to trust our heavenly Father for a Thanksgiving Homecoming. You are ALL amazing and our God is amazing. Your story is being written to influence so many of the power of God. Just know that we are holding you ALL up in prayer many times every day.

  7. Wendy,
Let there be no mistake, you are the ultimate teacher. Your scheduled lessons for my little girl may have ended months ago, but you continue to teach miles away; from your beside. These lessons are the ones that really count. The abilty so see God's grace in every moment. To teach a child how important prayer is. Not the kind of praying you do before a test, but the kind of prayer that comes from the deepest part of your soul. I could talk till I was blue in the face, and you live these lessons with every breath you take. This wisdom will be shared by your sweet little boys as well, and in time they will come to see what an amazing teacher you are. Blessings to you and family.

  8. Wendy,
Everyone misses you terribly. I think of you often even when I'm reading Zoe her favorite bedtime story (the one you gave her). I can't wait till you are home I know it won't be long now. I miss being able to pick up the phone and call you. I am praying that your prayers are answered and you get to go home before Thanksgiving. I know you have been through so much but I know what a strong person you are. I admire that about you! Hang in there and know that everything will work out. Your leg will get better with time, it is scary and I can relate, but it will. LOVE YOU!! See you soon
