today's results

Wendy has completed all of her preliminary surgery appointments. She and Micah will drive to UC Davis this coming Sunday evening. She will check-in for surgery at 5:30 Monday morning. Her surgery is scheduled for 8:00 am.

Today it was confirmed by Wendy's thoracic oncologist/surgeon that she has thymoma cancer. The stage and classification of the tumors will be determined once they are removed. You can read more about thymoma at this website, www.cancer.net/patient/Cancer+Types/Thymoma

The surgery is expected to last EIGHT hours. She will be laying on her side throughout the duration of the surgery, as they will be entering through her side. She had to sign a waiver today acknowledging that she understands the gravity of the surgery and the risks it entails. In true Wendy fashion however, after hearing the long list of risks, she voiced her concerns about her surgeon's well being. She was worried about her surgeon not being able to eat during the surgery. No breaks for the surgeon. This has Wendy very concerned...not eating for eight hours?!

Pray...
  • That Wendy's surgeon has good stamina, clarity, and mental focus. Pray he doesn't get too hungry.
  • For Wendy and her family as the word "cancer" sinks in.
  • Her physical strength as she enjoys these last days prior to surgery.

"For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds," says the Lord. Jeremiah 30:17

For with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1:37

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (NIV) Isaiah 41:10

    The Lord replied,
"My daughter, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I Carried You."
